Rear Extension - Catford
Location
Westhampton, New York
Overview
The rear extension in Southeast London has been carefully designed to cater to the spatial needs of a two-story terrace house, replacing the cramped kitchen previously situated at the rear of the property.
Our proposal encompasses a new open-plan linear kitchen featuring an island for seating and dining, a custom-designed reading corner with shelving and storage, and a contemporary bathroom equipped with ample storage and washing facilities.
The extension's design embraces simplicity and modernity, presented as a monolithic volume that creates an intentional contrast with the existing house. The landscape has also been revamped, incorporating new planters, decking, and an outer seating area.
To enhance the aesthetic appeal, the window frames are finished in black matte aluminium, while the wood cladding is proposed in a mid-grey thermopile color, resulting in a sophisticated and understated palette for the extension.
